I've really been very busy. I'm working *a lot* and I've been learning too. I've also been playing in the Cam again and playing World of Warcraft. That's pretty much it.

I work and go to school for about 15 hours a day... I'm totally serious. When my papers come out, I'll link them here as proof.

That being said... I'm very excited about the research I'm doing right now. Its very important to me. Sadly, cancer has really touched all of us in someway, and I've always had the desire to do something about it. Right now... I really have that opportunity. So far, I've been working on how certain antioxidants in plants can stop mutagens from modifying DNA... (in bacteria), but if the spices I'm working with show a lot of promise (which they are), I can start working with colon cells (causing them cancer and then trying to fix it). I know that's all pretty dumbed down, if you want the more complex version, let me know.

I'm starting to really think about attending larger events again. I'm going to go to SCARE with this character (I hope so anyway, I promised to run a seminar ;-) ) and I'm trying to be more active. We'll see how it goes. It's really entertaining for me to start all over again in the Cam. We have so many new people that the new people think I'm new because they've never seen me before :-). Its sort of neat to be incognito and I've gotten to roleplay with some really incredible people this way.

I'm trying to decide if I should attend a conference on February 2nd at Texas A&M. Its a Nutrition conference and its all day. What do you guys think?

I'm almost level 64.

I got to level 62! Now I get to not play for 3 days while I'm in Vegas T_T.

Well, UPS never came... but, my husband (noeticist) braved the blizzard to go get us two copies from the only best buy that was still open. Isn't he the sweetest? Now I'm in a 30 minute queue... but by god I'm going to stay up all night leveling!

noeticist came back unscathed... no car wrecks or anything... though he couldn't get back up our driveway (which is completely covered in ice).

I love him so much!

School is over. Yay! I'm just glad I made it through this semester. I had several extremely difficult classes and organic chemistry wasn't even the hardest one. I'm still really drained from the entire experience.

I'm still working at the lab and might be a TA next semester. Knowing my boss, he won't tell me whether or not I'm TAing his Food Science lab until the very last possible moment. Still, I love my job and he's a really nice guy. I have a lot of reading to do over the break... mainly about the Ames test and how I'm modifying it to do research on whether or not the phenolic content of the spices I'm going to be working with can stop mutagens from you know... causing mutations. (If you are interested... I can tell you how it works, because I was pretty amazed. I thought phenolics would be sort of catalyst for the DNA repair mechanism, but I was completely wrong. Anyways.)

So... I have about 5 more articles to read over the break.

I think I have 2 or 3 papers coming out some time this Spring, I'll keep you posted... just in case you want to read them.

I've figured out just what exactly I want to do with this degree (and hopefully the masters degree I'll be getting). I'd like to develop functional foods. IE: create a food product that treats a disease or condition. Like a green tea that would treat a listeria infection.

I've been trying to work out lately. I feel gross and out of shape, so I'm trying to exercise everyday while I can. Its been going well so far.

noeticist is doing well! He's still at Apple, and playing World of Warcraft. No, he doesn't answer email or instant messenger. If you want to talk to him, ping Keiron on the Terenas server. Have the time he can't even hear me because he has his headphones on ;-).

I've been enjoying Cam stuff. Hopefully I'll run into most of you soon.

I completely intend on coming through with it. Infact, I'm going to start on princessdiablo's real soon. I came up with what I wanted to do for her piece, first (sorry everyone else, but you'll get something too)!!!

Hi... I was wondering if anyone knew of a cheap place to host a website (preferably free) that didn't have all the crazy ad banners etc. I'm looking to make a website for our Iron Orchid chapter.

If anyone wants to help me with the design aspect of this project (for free or very cheap) I'd love to have your help.

I know some html... like the basics, so I'm not a total loss. Enough to maintain stuff. I could probably do pretty well off a template, also!

I had this weird epiphany that we should do some sort of trio for SCARE... if you guys are going... if not :-(. Maybe we could pick something and practice it? I'm not an improvisational musician, so I need to actually have you know... a piece of paper with notes on it, but I think we'd be giving people a treat if we were able to put something together.

If you feel really gung ho... we might even select a group of pieces. No viola solos, please.
